After seeing a wonderful David Hockney exhibit in LA with his “joiner” photographs, I was smitten with the idea of trying to reproduce the way human vision works. One never looks at a landscape in the orthogonal manner reproduced by the camera but in a random flowing manner across the field of vision.  My panoramas, with their direct link to Hockney’s “joiners”, depict alternative ways of gathering information to recompose an image into my brain…. they are my efforts to capture in a non linear, format-free manner that which is essential in a landscape.
